8 Google Search Tips and Tricks You Probably Don’t Know

Google is the mightiest name in the world of the Internet. Out of every 10 internet search queries, 8 are asked to Google Search only. When I was preparing for this site, I have learned a lot of good things about Google. Today I am going to share some of them with you. Actually, there are a lot of things about Google to share but today I will share some Google Search features in which you are most concern about.

1. Calculator:

How many times did someone ask you to calculate pi*4.7*4.7*5.6 while you are in your browser? You can use the built-in calculator on OS too. But its more convenient to calculate by typing in the address bar of your browser which you are already using.

Simply enter the mathematical expression, you’d like to be calculated, into the search box and hit the Enter key and the very first result will be your answer. The calculator can solve math problems involving basic arithmetic, more complicated maths, units of measure and conversions, and physical constants.

2. Unit and Currency converter:

There have been many times when you want to convert pounds(lbs) to grams but don’t know how many grams are there in a pound(lb).Just type it in the search box 3.5 pounds in grams press Enter.You can also use it to convert currencies. Type 67 us Dollar in INR and press Enter key.

3. Definitions and Dictionary:

To see a definition or dictionary meaning for a word or phrase, simply type the word “define” then space, and then the word(s) you want to know about it. If Google h a s definition for the word or phrase , it will display it at the top of your search results.

4. Movies:

Getting bored or feeling stress full get out and watch some good movies.To find reviews and showtimes for movies playing near you, type movies or showtimes into the Google search box. If you’ve saved your location for Google Search, the top search result will display showtimes for nearby theaters.

If you want to look for a specific movie then just type the name of the movie in Search Box.

5. Questions & Answers:

Most of the queries asked on Google Search are general questions and answers.Like when you want to know the “which is the capital of Hawaii”, just type capital of Hawaii in Search Box and hit Enter.Or you want to know the population of Bangalore? What currency is used in Sri Lanka? The birthplace of Abraham Lincoln? Just type it into the Google search box and answer will be displayed at the top of your search results page.

6. Weather:

Want to schedule your work according to weather conditions or you want to know the four-day forecast for your current location, type weather and forecast will be on your screen in a second. Or you want to know the weather condition or forecast for some other location just type weather followed by the name of a location.

7. Site Search:

Let you are a regular visitor to a site, and you want to search something on that site only. There is a search option on the site but you don’t like that.To search a specific site simply type your query site: followed by the URL of that site.And Google will filter the results and display result from that specific site only.Try results site:vtu.ac.in .All results will be from www.vtu.ac.in only.

8. Patent Search:

On Google, you can also search for specific Patents by their Patent Nos and learn more about Patents.To search for patents, enter the word patent followed by the patent number into the Google search box and hit Enter.
