In June 2012 Intel released the next generation of its microarchitecture code name Ivy Bridge processors which brought up to 30% more processing power and 10% more power efficiency. Laptops based on Ivy Bridge will bring smart visual performance, increased responsiveness and enhanced security. Faster I/O such as USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt technologies are also part of Intel’s ivy bridge architecture.
Ivy bridge is a microarchitecture based on 22nm process and Intel’s all-new tri-gate(3D) transistors.
