Very dissappointed with Nokia and Microsoft about the update procedures. Quite frankly this kind of Force update etc tells that the software update procedure is Useless and Unreliable. They still don’t get it. Making PR announcements months ahead with no timeline for rollout.. Some Idiots never learn..

You are not understanding the update procedure. This is a hack and the tango update will come soon.
Stop flaming Microsoft. Their phone os is the best!!

I believe it is network locked by AT&T. I am 42 and have been in the IT industry since 1988, so not a noob at workarounds. I get the same result as others who are on AT&T. It says it could not connect to check for an update, or there is no update.
-
Thought I would update my post. About a week ago, AT&T finally released the update and now I am good to go on my Lumia 900. Now, bring on the 7.8 update!!

tried the force hack for a couple of times, now it worked for the first time – counting to 4 ..
i guess it really is about the sweet spot.
agreed that it would have been nicer with OTA, without delays and so on, but the blogosphere created this hysteria about mobile OSes. in the end its just a phone, and i prefer to wait a little for solid code, and so far WP delivered
